Sacrament Preparation

The process of Sacrament Preparation at Prince of Peace is consistent with the guidelines established by the Diocese of St. Petersburg. The process consists of no less than one year of Faith Formation, followed by a second year of immediate preparation for the specific sacrament. 

The Sacramental Preparation program is an in-person program that will meet on Sundays in the Conessa Center.
The program used is the Sophia Institute's Spirit of Truth Sacramental Prep and will be taught by a Catechist who will help students and parents complete all the necessary steps in order to receive the sacrament.

The Cost of the Sacramental Preparation Program is and additional $25. The fees collected contribute toward the books, materials, and resources provided. 

To enroll in Sacramental Preparation you must meet the following criteria:

• Families with children 7 yrs of age or older who have not received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation/ First Communion are eligible to enroll for sacramental preparation.
• Families with children in the 8th grade or older who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation are eligible to enroll for sacramental preparation.
• Families must be registered parishioners at Prince of Peace Parish or a neighboring parish.
• Proof of Baptism must be provided at the time of enrollment.
• Children must have completed one year of faithful participation in Faith Formation or a Catholic parochial school immediately before enrollment in sacramental preparation. Concurrent enrollment in Catholic School or Parish Faith Formation is required during the sacramental preparation.
