During the July 1917 apparition at Fatima, Our Lady said to Lucia,“I shall come to ask... that on the First Saturday of every month, Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins of the world.” 3 The messages Our Lady imparted to the three children were a recommendation for devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary as a way to save souls and bring peace to the world. It predicted an end to the Great War, but predicted a worse one if people did not cease offending God.
On March 31st , the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Cross, you are invited to join members of Mary’s Helpers Ministry immediately following the daily 8 a.m. Mass to pray Mary’s Way of the Cross. Mary walked with Jesus on his way to the Cross.
Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Annual Easter Flowers, Bake and Craft sale will be held on Saturday, April 2 after 4:00 P.M. Mass and Sunday April 3 after all Masses 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. Sunday’s Sale will include a Bake Sale and a Craft Table of beautiful items hand made by our Hibernian sisters.
All are invited to a celebration of the Annunciation after Mass, Friday, March 25, for a Lenten breakfast. Following a German Lenten tradition, we will serve hard-boiled eggs and soft pretzels along with mini-quiches, strawberries, coffee, tea, and juice. We will explore the Annunciation in Art and honor Mary in song.
To celebrate the feast of St. Joseph, Prince of Peace will be hosting a special blessing of breads. This event traditionally called St. Joseph’s table, is a day celebration and commemoration of St. Joseph the spouse of Mary. While the tradition gets its origins from Italy it has been adopted world wide. Italians say the use of bread crumbs in food preparation this day is important as they represent saw dust in commemoration of St. Josephs’ work as a carpenter.
My heart aches greatly at the worsening situation in Ukraine. Despite the diplomatic efforts of the last few weeks, increasingly alarming scenarios are opening up.
St. Louis de Monfort claimed, “All true children of God have God for their father and Mary for their mother; anyone who does not have Mary for his mother, does not have God for his father.” The mission of Mary’s Helpers is to cultivate a deeper relationship with Mary, to spread devotion to Jesus through Mary in our parish and our families, to pray for the conversion of sinners and to ask Mary’s intercession for our priests.

One way that we have been serving pregnant women and their families is through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ initiative Walking with Moms in Need, which connects parishioners with volunteer opportunities at community pregnancy resource centers.

You are invited to the lighting of our parish Christmas tree and ornament exchange to be held on Thursday, December 16, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Conesa Center. Bring an ornament to share and receive one yourself. We will pray for the family from whom we’ve received our ornament. We are planning on serving seasonal beverages, listening to Christmas music, and enjoying one another’s company as we prepare for the birth of our Lord.
Join us Monday, December 6 at 7:00 P.M. as Prince of Peace will be hosting the Southeast Deanery Prayer and catechesis synod session. This is part one of the deaneries two-part Synod session. Attendees will be given a brief history of the synod, guided prayer and meditation, the questions the Holy Father is asking, and what steps there are moving forward with the synod.
