With a tornado watch in place for most of the day, things were looking bleak for the annual Trunk or Treat event which is typically held outside. But with some hard work from parish staff and Gannon students, the children who attended were greeted with plenty of candy and loads more fun!
The Prince of Peace parking lot was half-submerged in water as strong storms battered the area on Thursday. Trunk or Treat organizers were afraid they would need to cancel the event as typically people decorate their cars and have children walk the parking lot to get candy.
But quick thinking by parish staff and volunteers moved the entire event into the Conesa Center. Well, not everything as cars are not permitted into the building. But with a few tables set up, decorations, and enough candy for all to enjoy, the families who attended were greeted with a wonderful experience.
Prince of Peace would like to thank all who donated candy in support of this event and all who showed up to volunteer their time to put a smile on the faces of local children.
