The K-8 program is an all-online program that will use the Sophia Institute's
Spirit of Truth Online Resource.
This program is for students who are not in a sacramental year (1st Communion or Confirmation) but are working on growing their understanding of the faith. While students won't be preparing for a specific sacrament this education is important for future sacraments and serves as a great foundation in faith that the students will carry with them for life.
When students are registered and classes begin, they will receive an access code to be able to get all of their course material as well as access any quizzes, projects, or other resources needed to learn.
This program is designed to be a parent-led, Catechist-managed program. This means parents will work with their students to complete course work and the catechist will manage their progress, administer quizzes and tests, and grade course work. The Catechist will give feedback on progress and areas of improvement, as well as offer insights into difficult concepts and teachings.
The catechist for the 2022-2023 program will be Fr. Tim.
The cost of this program is $50 per student and it will run from
September 7th to June 7th, 2023. The fees collected contribute toward the books, materials, and resources provided.
Parents, when your child was baptized, you agreed to raise them in the Catholic faith. This means you have the responsibility of attending Mass with your child each Sunday.
Faith Formation Sessions do not provide us all the knowledge we need; we also need the grace that is received at Mass. It is expected that both students and parents will attend Sunday Mass each week.
"The liturgy is the summit towards which the activity of the Church is directed; it is, therefore, the privileged place for catechizing the People of God."(CCC #1074)
