Adoration is a time of silent prayer, during which we spend time with Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who Is truly present in the Most Holy Eucharist--that tiny, humble Host which appears like bread, but is truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of the same Jesus Who walked this earth 2,000 years ago. You will see Him placed in a golden receptacle known as a Monstrance, which is used for proper veneration. Gold is pure and precious, and is the traditional metal given to those we love. How much more does the Son of God made Flesh in the Holy Eucharist deserve to be housed in this precious metal which He Himself made? As Our Lord said, "The poor you will always have with you, but Me, you have not always". (Matthew 26:11)
